A WWII U-boat periscope shooter for the Commodore 64

Take command of U-96, the most feared submarine in the Kriegsmarine wolfpack. Hunt Allied shipping across the North Atlantic in this homage to the 1976 arcade classic Sea Wolf, recreated in pure 6502 assembly for the Commodore 64.

You have 10 torpedoes. The convoy has hundreds of ships. Sink 110 to win the patrol — and earn your place among the legendary U-boat aces.

• Destroyers drop depth charges that you must intercept with torpedoes

• PT boats are small, fast, and worth less — but still lethal
• S-Class submarines silently stalk you back
• HMS HOOD appears for high-value strikes (and torpedo resupply)
• HMS SPEARFISH — a rare bonus catch

💣 Torpedo management is everything — every shot counts. Mines drift across your firing lane and steal your precious ammunition. Sink the right ships to resupply (up to 25 torpedoes max).

🎖️ Medal & Citation system — earn the U-Boat Badge, Iron Cross, Iron Cross 1st Class, or the legendary Knight's Cross based on your patrol record. Pick up special citations for specialization: Wolfpack (destroyer hunter), Battleship Hunter, Sub Hunter, Vigilant (depth-charge defender)

📊 Detailed end-of-patrol stats screen shows your kill breakdown by ship type, total ships sunk, torpedoes expended, and depth charges blocked — for both victorious patrols and tragic losses

Controls

• Joystick (Port 2) — aim the periscope crosshair
• Fire button — launch a torpedo
• N (on instructions screen) — view tactical notes & medal table
• F (on instructions screen) — start the patrol

How to play

The game runs as a .prg file. Load it on:

• Real C64 — transfer to disk/cassette, or use any modern flash cart (1541-Ultimate, EasyFlash, etc.)
• Emulator — VICE, Hoxs64, CCS64, https://lvllvl.com, or any C64 emulator. Just load the PRG and RUN.

Sink 110 ships to complete the patrol. Run out of torpedoes and your U-96 is forced to the surface — game over, captain.

WolfsciiPack is a labor of love — this is my first full sized game and it took me several months to complete.  I hope you enjoy it!
